Intel Report: Hamas Can Fire Rockets for Weeks

Palestinian resistance fighters continued to launch rockets at Israeli settlements Tuesday despite a four-day old ground offensive against Gaza. A Grad rocket attack targeted the Gedera settlement north of Kiryat Malachi, 30 kilometers from Tel Aviv. Resistance fighters also fired at least four other rockets into the western Negev.

Over 40 Qassam and Grad rockets were fired Monday from Gaza at southern Israeli settlements striking Ashkelon, Ashdod, Sderot, Kiryat Malakhi, near Ofakim, Netivot and Be'er Sheva.
Hamas also fired rockets at the area between Ashdod and Gedera on Monday. A number of people in Sderot were “treated for shock.”

Israeli occupation army officials estimate that the rocket fire emanating from Gaza will not end anytime soon despite the ground incursion into the territory.

The Israeli Maariv daily quoted an intelligence report as saying on Tuesday that Hamas “has the capacity to fire rockets and mortars at Israel for weeks.”
"Hamas has enough rockets and mortar shells to continue firing deep into Israeli territory for weeks," said the report presented to parliament's foreign affairs and defense committee by General Yossi Beidatz, head of the research department for military intelligence, according to the daily.
Beidatz said that Hamas "has not raised the white flag in the past and wants to remain in power."

Palestinians renew truce

"GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinian armed factions renewed their commitment to a Gaza Strip truce on Thursday but said rocket salvoes from the territory could resume if Israel did not halt military operations in the occupied West Bank.

The message was delivered to Israel by an Egyptian mediator who has been trying to prevent a major confrontation after Hamas's armed wing fired rockets and declared the Gaza truce dead on Tuesday, Palestinians familiar with the talks said.

The envoy, Major-General Burhan Hammad, "informed the Israelis of the new commitment by the factions and at same time stressed that factions demanded the calm be reciprocal and simultaneous, covering Gaza and the West Bank," a source said......"

remember the Arab armies (with tanks , fighter jets, thousands of guns , missiles etc..) gave up and raised the white flag in 1967 in 6 days but Hamas with its feable capabilities continues to worry the zionists who are now worried their citizens hiding in dungeons .
