The headlines this past weekend were full of reports from Israeli soldiers, speaking out about Gaza. The soldiers were participating in a discussion at the Yitzhak Rabin pre-military preparatory program, where amidst discussion of the war in Gaza, described the murder of Gazan civilians and the general lack of repect for Palestinian lives amongst IDF soldiers. Haaretz broke the story last Thursday and has since then published the full stories. The Israeli Government has responded that these were isolated incidents and that the moral standing of the IDF remains impeccable.

Earlier today, Kamal Medha, the deputy representative of the PLO in Lebanon, was killed by a roadside bomb, along with three of his bodyguards. No group has claimed responsibility, but a PLO official has called it an assassination. It is widely reported that Medha was involved in an internal Fatah struggle, but speculation as to who organized his killing is still a mystery.
