IOF soldiers arrest American activist, demolish home in Negev & tent in OJ

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested an American activist and two Palestinian citizens in Bilin village, Ramallah district, at dawn Wednesday.

The popular committee against the wall said in a press release that the soldiers stormed the village from the western area, where the separation wall is built, and broke into a number of homes before arresting the two citizens along with the American woman.

It added that the soldiers fired sonic and teargas bombs during the raid, which is aimed at aborting the villagers' weekly demos against the wall that confiscated most of the village lands.

The IOF troops at dawn Wednesday had rounded up 12 Palestinians in central and southern West Bank areas, the Israeli radio reported.

In the Negev, the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished a house in Gaza village and bulldozed 800 dunums of lands cultivated with barley and wheat at the pretext they were planted on "state-owned" lands.

In occupied Jerusalem, Israeli municipality workers tore down a tent on Tuesday night pitched by the Ghawi family after confiscating its content.

Local sources said that foreign and peace now activists assisted Sheikh Jarrah suburb's inhabitants in rebuilding the tent after the occupation police left the scene.

The Ghawi family had pitched the tent after the IOA confiscated their home.

IOF troops storm home of MP, threaten to demolish six homes in Al-Khalil

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the home of MP Hatem Qufaisha in Al-Khalil city in a pre dawn raid on Wednesday and told him to report for interrogation later in the morning.

The MP told the PIC reporter that the IOF soldiers thoroughly searched his home and broke into the home of his brother Subhi, who was released a few days ago from jails of Mahmoud Abbas's militias.

Qufaisha said that the commander of the IOF unit handed him an order to report to the Israeli security headquarters in Etzion north of Al-Khalil.

Abbas's militias had stormed the homes of Qufaisha four weeks ago at the pretext of searching for his brother Subhi who was detained by those militias on three occasions over the past two months.

Meanwhile, the IOF soldiers handed demolition orders to the landlords of six homes in Yatta village, south of Al-Khalil, at the pretext of building without permit.

The IOF soldiers had rounded up nine citizens in Al-Khalil city and surrounding villages at dawn Tuesday.
