GAZA, (PIC)-- The Movement of Hamas warned Fatah faction of the repercussions of the Frenzied arrest campaign it launched against its cadres in the West Bank and demanded it to choose between its collaboration with the Israeli occupation or the Palestinian resistance.

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum told a news conference on Tuesday that Fatah's latest arrests that took place in the West Bank were carried out in conjunction with Israel's escalation of similar arrests and its Judaization and settlement activities in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Spokesman Barhoum added that Fatah proved further its grave security cooperation with the Israeli occupation in eliminating the resistance and protecting Israel's security.

He warned that if Fatah did not loosen its grip on the resistance and refused to release the political prisoners from its jails, there would be dangerous implications in the Palestinian arena.

The spokesman stressed that Fatah's persistence in arresting Hamas cadres in the West Bank confirm that Mahmoud Abbas lies about his keenness on the national reconciliation.

In related incidents, journalist Nawaf Al-Amer, the coordinator of TV programs at Al-Quds satellite channel in the West Bank, reported that he was exposed to maltreatment, his hands were tied up and eyes were blindfolded when he was summoned recently for interrogation by Fatah's security militias.

Amer told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that this behavior was an attempt to send unacceptable indirect messages to Al-Quds channel, pointing out that the entire channel's reporters in the West Bank were either harassed or arrested without any reason or guilt.

He described the freedom of opinion and expression in the West Bank as freedom designed according to the size of the existing security and political reality.

According to the latest report issued Wednesday by Hamas in the West Bank, Fatah's security militias went too far in their arrest campaigns and kidnapped 28 Palestinians affiliated with the Movement.

With these new arrests, the number of Hamas members and supporters kidnapped by these militias during the last two days rose to about 100 detainees.

About 150 summonses have been issued against Hamas cadres since Fatah escalated two days ago its arrest campaigns, Hamas said.
