Arab Diplomatic Source: Lebanese Proved to Be Involved in Syrian Security Incidents, Damascus Sends Warning to 14 March

An Arab diplomatic source told As-Safir Lebanese daily that "If 7 boats loaded with weapons arriving from Lebanon's Northern shores, as well as Syrian opposition elements and Lebanese elements entering Syria through the Bekaa are proved to have happened, then we are before a crucial and critical security given that turns Lebanon and its borders into a channel for conspiring against Syria and target its stability."

Also, among the other issues the source mentioned concerning the violation of Syria's sovereignty are the participation of some Syrian and Lebanese elements in security operations, violence against Syrians during the protests in favor of the Syrian regime in Beirut and other areas in Lebanon, as well as rumors that some aim at organizing a protest in Tripoli against the Syrian regime.

"If the Syrian investigations proved some Lebanese sides to being involved then this would be in conflict with the bilateral agreements between the two countries and are still in action. It also contradicts with the Lebanese constitution, by virtue of the National Accord, Al Taef Accord as well as the Lebanese-Syrian relations clause," the same source said, explaining that such might lead to tension again between Syria and certain Lebanese sides knowing that Syria awaits the Lebanese government to take the required measures in compliance with the acts of the constitution and the security agreements between the two countries.

Also, in another context, according to sources, Damascus sent a harsh-language letter to a prominent political party in Lebanon of the March 14, or "new opposition", warning it from approaching Syria's security, which is a "red line" it should not approach.

Moreover, the sources noted it has enough given that can prove the involvement of certain Lebanese parties in the Daraa or Ladikiya incidents.

At the backdrop of these revelations and accusations, former Lebanese MP Adnan Arakji condemned the interference of some Lebanese in the Syrian internal affairs that aim at sabotage and creating tension. He considered that the wagering of some March 14 sides on weakening the regime in Syria is a losing step, because the (Syrian) regime is based on a vast popular foundation.

In his statement, Arakji warned "Those in parallel with "Israel" on the slogan of disarming the resistance are playing with fire and want to shove Lebanon in another "Israeli" adventure through conspiring against Syria, its security and stability."
