JENIN, (PIC)-- The Palestinian Authority security agencies sacked six teachers in the northern West Bank city of Jenin because they are affiliated with Hamas, despite the reconciliation agreement which was signed between Fatah and Hamas in Cairo recently.

A Hamas source said that the Education department local office in Jenin received the decision from Ramallah to sack four male teachers and two female teachers. A number of the sacked teachers received an official letter informing them of the decision while others were informed verbally of the decision.

The source added that amongst those sacked are Ashraf Shaaban (36 years) from the village of Yamoun, who is a freed captive who spent four years in occupation jails and whose father is still in occupation jails, Mahmoud Qasrawi, from the village of Barqin to the west of Jenin, Fawwaz Abu Jaber (25 years) from the village of Jalqamous and Muhammad Shalbak from Jenin.

The salaries of a number of other teachers were stopped in preparation for their sacking, the PIC will not publish their names as they have not been officially informed of being sacked.
