For the fourth time since the ouster of former Egyptian President Hosni Moubarak, a group of unknown people blew up a gas pipeline that supplies Egypt’s gas to the Israeli entity.

The blast that occurred Tuesday in Sinai caused great damage to the facilities and huge flames that were seen from 20 kilometers away. However, it did not cause any human casualty.

Media reports quoted anonymous sources saying that “the attackers ordered the guards on duty to leave and then blew up the terminal, starting a huge fire that sent flames shooting into the air that lit up the night sky.”

CAIRO, (PIC)-- A huge explosion resounded in the northern Egyptian Sinai Peninsula after unknown persons exploded part of the pipeline supplying both Israel and Jordan with Egyptian natural gas in the fourth such incident in past five months.
The official Egyptian news agency said on Tuesday that a big fire erupted near the natural gas station in the northern Sinai city of El-Arish after the huge explosion that occurred Monday night.

Egyptian authorities are looking for the perpetrators of the blast, which reportedly caused injuries to a number of people other than the material damage. A similar explosion happened last week but without causing any casualties.
Magdi Tawfi, the manager of Gasco company supervising the pipeline, had said that gas exports would be resumed by the end of this week, adding that his country was entitled to amending the gas prices, which the opposition said was much lower than the international market.
